Kent State East Liverpool

hosting Hispanic Culture Fair

EAST LIVERPOOL - Kent State will hold a Hispanic Culture Fair from 12:30 to 1:40 p.m. Wednesday and 5 to 6:10 p.m. Thursday in the quiet study lounge of the main classroom building located at 400 E. Fourth St.

'A Taste of Pizza' will be held

Friday at the St. Paul gym

SALEM - The public is invited to "A Taste of Pizza," sponsored by the Salem Rotary Club, to be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at St. Paul School gym.

A $6 donation entitles you to up to five slices of pizza of your choice provided by area pizzerias. Proceeds from the event support Salem Rotary's youth projects.

Dinner will be served at Bunker

Hill United Methodist Church

SALEM - A creamed chicken over biscuits dinner will be served to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, 15069 W. Middletown Road.

Cost is $7 per meal which includes mashed potatoes and gravy, roasted carrots, cole slaw and dessert.

Southern Local Hall of Fame

breakfast planned Saturday

SALINEVILLE - The Southern Local Hall of Fame breakfast kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday at the high school. Tickets are $10 each. Inductees will be introduced at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

This year's inductees are Joe Keating, Mike Boyle, Lacey Dangelo, and Matt Puckett (posthumously).

New Alexander Christian

Church hosting dinner Saturday

NEW ALEXANDER - An all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatballs dinner will be served from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the New Alexander Christian Church, 7665 E. Rochester Road. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for ages 5 to 10. Carryouts are available.

Salem Hunting Club Saturday

SALEM - The public is invited to an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Salem Hunting Club, 549 Indiana Ave.

Eggs, pancakes, potatoes, bacon, toast, orange juice and a choice of hot beverages are available for a $5 donation.

Club officers will be on hand to answer questions related to membership or club activities.

EAST LIVERPOOL - The East Liverpool High School Class of 1951 will meet at 4 p.m. Oct. 8 at Tom's Restaurant in Chester, W. Va.

Columbiana County Port

Authority will meet

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Columbiana County Port Authority will hold a special board meeting at the Port Authority offices located at 1250 St. George St. The board will convene and move to executive session at 8:30 a.m. to discuss pending litigation and personnel matters. The board will reconvene at noon with no further action to be presented in open meeting.

Radiological Safety Board will

LISBON - The Utility Radiological Safety Board (URSB) of Ohio will meet at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 9 at the Columbiana County Emergency Management Agency, 215 S. Market St.

LEETONIA - The Leetonia High School classes 1958-61 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. Oct. 9 at Taste of Country in Lisbon.

Breastfeeding support

group will meet on Oct. 9

LISBON - The Salem-Lisbon La Leche League, a breastfeeding support group, will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church, 111 E. Chestnut St.

The discussion topic will be "Baby Arrives: The Family and the Breastfed Baby." All pregnant or nursing mothers and their babies are welcome.

COLUMBIANA - The Crestview Local Board of Education Finance Committee plans to meet at 7 a.m. Oct. 10 in the superintendent's office, 44100 Crestview Road, Suite A. The BOE's regular meeting follows at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.

DAMASCUS - An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served from 7 to 11 a.m. Oct. 20 at the Damascus United Methodist Church. Proceeds will go to the youth director's fund. The next breakfast is Nov. 17.

SCC's Holiday Bazaar

Extraordinaire is Nov. 17

SALEM - The Salem Community Center Holiday Bazaar Extraordinaire will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17.

Columbiana Chamber making

plans for Christmas parade

COLUMBIANA - The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting organizations to participate in its annual Christmas parade.

Plaques will be awarded for Best Float, Best Car, Best of Theme, Best Marching/Walking Unit, Best Old Fire Truck, Best New Fire Truck, Best of Parade and Best of Animals.

The annual Columbiana Christmas Parade is held in conjunction with Columbiana's annual "Christmas in Columbiana."

The parade will move out from Joshua Dixon School at 10 a.m. Nov. 17 and will proceed down Main Street to Union Street. This year's theme is "The Joy of Christmas is Shining."

After the parade, chamber representatives will take pictures with Santa at the Main Street Theater.

Other activities throughout the day will include a lunch/bake/craft sale at the First Presbyterian Church following the parade; the annual St. Jude Craft Sale; free Christmas movies at the Columbiana Public Library beginning at 1:30 p.m.; free family movie at 7 p.m. at the Main Street Theater, etc.

The town stores will welcome guests with special sales and refreshments and local entertainers will wander through the shops, adding to the Christmas spirit. See the Columbiana Calendar at www.columbianachamber for complete details of the day.
