SALEM - Hazel M. Brown, 86, of Salem, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at the Parkside Nursing Home in Columbiana.
She was born Aug. 26, 1926, in Washingtonville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leslie W. and Rachel (Allison) Boston.
Hazel retired in 1986 after 20 years of service with the Royal China Company. She was a member of the Southeast Friends Church, served on the Spiritual Life Committee, taught kindergarten and Junior Church, and was a member of the Alena Calkins Missionary Society.
Her husband, Virgil Eugene Brown, whom she married Oct. 20, 1973, preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1978.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce (Scott) Harris of Columbiana and Sandi (James) O'Heron of Gahanna Ohio; stepson, Rodney (Joann) Brown of Zanesville, Ohio; brother, Percy Boston of Leetonia; a sister, Dorothy Martin of Joplin, Mo.; two grandsons, Joe (Julie) Harris of Pickerington, Ohio, and Michael O'Heron of Boston, Mass.; and three great-grandchildren, Clara, A.J. and Jacob Harris.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Howard, Melvin and Leslie W. Boston.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at the Southeast Friends Church with Pastor Jeremy Ray officiating.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Beloit.
