LISBON - During the month of September, Community Action Agency is accepting applications for 2013 PIPP Plus. PIPP Plus is a payment plan designed by the P.U.C.O. and the Office of Community Assistance to make payments affordable for low-income households. PIPP Plus requires regulated gas and electric companies (i.e. AEP, Ohio Edison, Columbia Gas, and Dominion Gas) to accept payments based on percentage of the household income for those customers who are at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty level. For example, a family of three could make up to $28,635 annually and qualify for assistance. PIPP is based solely on a client's income and only deducts payments made for child support and/or medical insurance; garnishments, rent, and other bills are not taken into consideration. Clients are seen by appointment only and appointments are only made by calling 330-424-1386. All clients must bring proof of income for the past 90 days for all household members, utility bills, photo ID, rent receipt, Social Security card for all household members, and the applicant must bring his/her birth certificate.
