Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Shively mark golden anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Shively of 11162 W. Pine Lake Road, Salem, were honored on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary at a private reception on July 28 at the First United Methodist Church.

The former Mary Louise Morris and Mr. Shively were married on July 28, 1962, at the Trinity Episcopal Church. The Rev. Ralph Reamsnyder of the church officiated.

Mr. Shively retired in 2001 following 33 years of employment at Giant Eagle where he was the candy and tobacco salesman.

Mrs. Shively had been employed Sears, Kaufmanns, and Precious Cargo Day Care, retiring in 2004.

The Shivelys are members of the First United Methodist Church where they are ushers, and he is a van driver and trustee and she is a member of the Missions Committee and United Methodist Women; United Commercial Travelers where he is a past Ohio grand counselor; and volunteers at the Salem Community Pantry.

Mrs. Shively is also a member of Colonial Dames, Daughters of the American Revolution and Quaker Day Care Center board president.

The celebration was hosted by the couple's children and spouses, Sharon McGuire, Karen and Don Benning; grandson, Sean McGuire; and friend Jonas Calicdan.
