SALEM - Kenneth Lee Stoffer, 90, of Salem, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at the Pleasant View North Nursing and Retirement Center.
He was born March 11, 1922, in Knox Township, Ohio, the son of the late Ross and Mabel (Berger) Stoffer.
Before his retirement Mr. Stoffer had work for Columbia Gas for 40 years. Kenny was a 1941 graduate of Goshen High School and a member of the Salem V.F.W. Post #892 and Salem AMVETS Post #45. He served with the U.S. Army during WW II in Germany.
His wife of 52 years, Rosemary (Spinelli) Stoffer, preceded him in death Feb. 8, 2002. Three brothers, Lorin, Herbert and Buddy Stoffer and a great niece, Christal Webb also preceded him in death.
Survivors include, two sisters, Edith Teague of Alliance and Betty (Eugene) Lewis of Beloit; sister-in-law, Delores Stoffer of Beloit; a special niece, Cindy (Daryl) Kaurich of Beloit; special nephew, Jeff (Barbie) Lewis of Salem; and many other nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Chaplain Kathleen Zimmerman of Senior Independence Hospice officiating.
Calling hours will be held on Friday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ravenna.
