LISBON - Sterling A. Kennedy, 36, Youngstown was sentenced in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Friday to 24 months in prison with credit for 220 days served and his license was suspended for a year. Kennedy had pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of drugs, including one with a forfeiture specification. One of the charges was for crack cocaine and the other heroin, both in his possession on Sept. 17, 2010. Additionally he had in his possession $1,338, digital scales, a stun gun and a knife. A receiving stolen property charge was dismissed.
Brett Nolan, 23, Girard, was sentenced Friday to five years probation and classified as a Tier III sexual offender for sexual battery. Court documents noted Nolan has "some mental limitations."
Thomas C. Browning III, 29, St. George Street, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs. He faces up to 12 months in prison, a $2,500 fine and a six month license suspension. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 2. Browning reportedly had cocaine in the coin pocket of his pants on Aug. 12, 2011.
