ALLIANCE - The Mile Branch Grange Fairgrounds on Knox School Road just east of Alliance will be the scene of a Tractor and Truck Pull for a Cure for the first time in 2012.
The pulls will be sanctioned by MAC Trailer of Alliance and members have joined forces with the American Cancer Society as well as the Shriners Association to help Families and Children beat the fight against cancer.
The Pulls for Cures in 2012 start at 7 p.m. Sept. 21. Admission will be $10 for 17 and up; and $5 for 16 and under. Children 2 and under will be admitted free.
The Shriners Association will hold a fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Carryouts will be available. There will be a 50/50 raffle and charity auction where winners will be announced at the half point of the pull.
Featured will be the Miller Light girls with four different classes of pulling action including the Pro Stock Tractors and Super Farm Tractors from across the region. This class of highly-modified tractors is a crowd favorite in the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania.
The Invite Only 2.6 Turbo Charger Diesel 4x4 class has been scheduled for this pull which will bring some of the best running diesel trucks in the area to Alliance.
Popular names such as Corrie Baker, Brian Whinnery, Justin Garwood, Joe Hemm, Jesse Warren, Brandon Stern, Eric George, Josh Hunter, Chris Abrahamson, Chris Kister, Jeremiah Allen, Brandon Lepley, Tad Brogan, Dale Bennett, Bryan Pollock, Dustin Harrison, John Savage and Ryan Graham will have their trucks shined and ready to pull. A tremendous regional class from the Central Ohio Pullers is also scheduled as the Classic Super Stock Tractors will take to the track as one of the favorite classes of the evening at Mile Branch.
There are no membership requirements for this pull. All tractors and trucks that meet the rules and can pass the inspection process will be permitted to enter and participate unless it is an Invite Only class.
