LISBON - Sheryl D. Helman, 67, of North Market Street, died at 7:49 a.m. Wednesday at the Salem Community Hospital following a recent illness.
Born Feb. 8, 1945, in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Thelma (DeLand) Culbertson.
Mrs. Helman worked as a secretary at Buckeye Industrial Mining for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, John Helman, whom she married on June 26, 1965; three sons, Doug (Amber) Helman of Granville, Greg (Denise) Helman of Salem and Michael (Meghan Pangborn) Helman of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Cherie Farmer of Seneca, S.C.; and six grandchildren.
A Catholic Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. George Catholic Church, 271 W. Chestnut St., with the Rev. James Lang officiating. Burial will follow in the Lisbon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held at 1:45 p.m.
