WINONA - A 13-year-old girl was taken to a Boardman hospital Saturday after the tractor she was driving toppled over on her.
Winona Fire Department Assistant Chief George Brantingham said the girl was participating in a garden tractor pull hosted by the Winona Garden Tractor Pullers Association when the accident happened shortly after 2 p.m.
Brantingham added that spectators at the event were able to pull the garden tractor off her before emergency responders arrived. She was not seriously injured and taken to the hospital by Damascus EMS only as a precaution.
The tractor toppled over after rolling backwards over a hill and Brantingham said it is unclear what caused it to roll backwards.
The girl's name was not released. The third annual money pull at Hall Park continued as scheduled following the accident.
