CALCUTTA - The Beavers swept the Golden Eagles.
The Beaver Local girls' tennis team won all five matches en route to a 5-0 victory Tuesday at home over United.
In singles, Kristi Kline defeated Courtney Sanlo, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1, Kayla Laurich defeated Savannah Morris, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 and Destany Stevens defeated Danae Menough, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 3.
In doubles, Beaver Local's team of Jesslyn Taylor and Natalyn Chamberlain defeated Kaeleigh Louk and Brittany Miller, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1 and at No. 2, Samantha Bishop teamed up with Ella Polen to defeat Aynnalise Moore and Taylor Gray, 6-0, 6-0.
The match was the opposite of the Beavers' match on Monday as Austintown Fitch defeated visiting Beaver Local, 5-0.
In singles, Emily Wirtz defeated Kline, 6-4, 7-6 (7-2), at No. 1, Katie Klepee defeated Laurich, 7-5, 6-4, at No. 2 and Mindy McMullen defeated Jordan Reinke, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, at No. 3.
In doubles, Ashley Hanuschak teamed up with Sarah Klipaj to defeate Taylor and Chamberlain, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1, and at No. 2, Latrice Nelson and Manah Cuevas defeated Bishop and Polen, 7-5, 6-3.
Beaver Local plays today at Poland.
