Saxon Retirees to meet for lunch
SALEM- Saxon Retirees will meet for snacks at 11:30 a.m. and lunch at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 4 at the club. Lunch will be followed by a meeting and Bingo.

WINONA- The Winona Area Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Winona Friends Meeting House. Community members are welcome to attend.
Families of Homicide Victims plan event
LISBON- Columbiana County Families of Homicide Victims will hold their annual Balloon Launch and Candle Light Vigil at 6 p.m. Aug. 30 at the gazebo in Lisbon. It is a family friendly event and open to the public. Balloons and candles will be provided.
Chips & Chatter Book Club in Columbiana
COLUMBIANA- The Columbiana Public Library will host its Chips & Chatter Book Club for area children in grades six, seven and eight at 4 p.m. starting Sept. 19. The title for the meeting is "Among the Hidden" by Margaret Peterson Haddix. There are several copies of the title available at the library. To register stop by or call 330-482-5509. Rabies Clinic at Beaver Valley Mall
BEAVER COUNTY, Pa.- The Beaver County Human Society will conduct the final Rabies Clinic of the year from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 15 at the shelter adjacent to the Beaver Valley Mall in Center Township. Cats and dogs must be at least three months of age and must be on a leash or in a carrier. Cost is $10 per animal. Pennsylvania state law mandates that any dog or cat, with the exception of barn cats, three months or older must be vaccinated against rabies. Perry trustees set hearing on sewers
PERRY TWP. - Township trustees will host a public hearing at 6:30 tonight regarding the Brooklyn Avenue/Depot Road sewer project at the township safety & administration building, 2198 N. Ellsworth Ave., Salem, followed by their regular trustees meeting.
The regular meeting originally set for Aug. 27 has been moved back to tonight. No meeting will be held on Monday.
