The Review needs your fall sports schedules

The Review is asking area coaches and athletic directors to send us your fall sports schedules. Schedules are still needed from? American Spirit Academy, Edison and Southern Local. They can be emailed to or faxed to 330-385-8142.

Doorknob tournament being held Saturday

NEW CUMBERLAND - A bragging rights doorknob tournament will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shelter No. 3 at Tomlinson Run Park. For information, call Perry Howard at 330-843-2147.

Oak Glen holding Meet the Team

NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen football team is hosting a Meet the Team tonight at the high school. The evening will start at 5 p.m., and the Meet the Team will begin at 6 p.m. All Oak Glen fall sports have been invited to the event to introduce the teams. There will be food, snow cones and Oak Glen merchandise. There will be games and activities including a sports challenge and a chance to dunk a football coach in the dunk tank. The army will also be there to make dog tags for children.

Night at the races being held

EAST LIVERPOOL - A night at the races is going to be held Saturday at Turkana Golf Course. Doors open at 6 p.m. Racing begins at 7 p.m. There will be a Chinese auction, and a live auction of a Toro zero-turn tractor. There is a $10 cover charge, which includes appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages.

Team Mojo Foundation holding event

WELLSVILLE - Team Mojo Foundation will hold the 2nd Annual Center Pharmacy Back To School 5K Run & Walk on Aug. 25. The event will start and finish at Wellsville High School. Cost is $5 for children and $15 for adults with a donation of new school supplies. Visit to register or pick up a form at Center Pharmacy in Wellsville.

Tee times still available for golf scramble

CALCUTTA - Tee times are still available for the 18th Annual Columbiana County Special Olympics Golf Scramble Aug. 18 at Beaver Creek Meadows Golf Course. The cost is $260 for a four-person team, which includes 18 holes with cart, breakfast, lunch at turn, dinner and beverages. For information, call Tom Moyer at 330-337-7962.

East Liverpool selling athletic passes

EAST LIVERPOOL - Athletic passes and season football tickets for East Liverpool Schools will be available the following dates and times: from 5-8 p.m. today at the high school, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the high school, during the Potters' football scrimmage Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the high school. The cost for the athletic passes is $150 for a family of up to five and an additional $10 for each person beyond five. Student passes are $35 and a single adult pass is $60. A small photo of each person is Required for each pass. Season ticket cost $15 for senior citizens and $25 for adults. For information, contact Greg Adkins at 330-383-9599.

Potters to face Quakers in Jamboree

EAST LIVERPOOL- The East Liverpool football team will face Salem at 7 p.m. Thursday at Patterson Field. The band and the cheerleaders will be at the game. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Oak Glen cheerleaders selling merchandise

NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen cheerleaders are selling 48x60 woven blankets. The blankets are blue with yellow paw prints and say Oak Glen Golden Bears. Blankets are $35 each. They are also selling 28oz. clear drink tumblers with blue handles and Oak Glen Golden Bears printed in yellow. Tumblers are $10. Both items will be available at the new Oak Glen stadium today for Meet the Team and before every home game.

Last catfish tournament being held

CHESTER - The Chester and Newell Sportsmen Club will be holding its last Ohio River Catfish Tournament from 7 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday. The tournament is open to everyone. The cost is $10 per fisherman. Those interested can sign up at Chaney's Sunoco Station in Chester. For information, call 304-387-3982.

Bowling league meeting to be held

EAST LIVERPOOL - Sunday Night bowling meeting for 2012-13 will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Tri-State Lanes. Anyone interested is invited to attend or call 330-386-1461 or 330-386-5074.

Beavers, Potters football tickets on sale

EAST LIVERPOOL - Pre-sale tickets for the Beaver Local at East Liverpool football game are currently on sale. Tickets can be purchased in downtown East Liverpool at TJD?Sports and All?Sports. Tickets can be purchased in?Calcutta at Campbell?Signs and at 7 & 30?Superette. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets are available until 3 p.m. Aug. 23.
