Online poll asks which football team is best
An online poll is now available at www.reviewonline.com asking which area high school football team you think will be the best this season. The poll will be open until Aug. 12 and the results will be featured in The Review's annual High School Football Preview edition which hits stands on Aug. 23. The preview, which for the first time will have three different covers, will also contain other player polls as well as all the information you'll need to get ready for the 2012 season.

Potters to face Quakers in Jamboree
EAST LIVERPOOL- The East Liverpool football team will face Salem at 7 p.m. Thursday at Patterson Field. The band and the cheerleaders will be at the game. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Oak Glen cheerleaders selling merchandise
NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen cheerleaders are selling 48x60 woven blankets. The blankets are blue with yellow paw prints and say Oak Glen Golden Bears. Blankets are $35 each. They are also selling 28oz. clear drink tumblers with blue handles and Oak Glen Golden Bears printed in yellow. Tumblers are $10. Both items will be available at the new Oak Glen stadium Wednesday for Meet the Team and before every home game.
East Liverpool selling athletic passes
EAST LIVERPOOL - Athletic passes and season football tickets for East Liverpool Schools will be available the following dates and times: from 5-8 p.m. today at the high school, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the high school, during the Potters' football scrimmage Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the high school. The cost for the athletic passes is $150 for a family of up to five and an additional $10 for each person beyond five. Student passes are $35 and a single adult pass is $60. Last catfish tournament being held
CHESTER - The Chester and Newell Sportsmen Club will be holding its last Ohio River Catfish Tournament from 7 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday. The tournament is open to everyone. EAST LIVERPOOL - The East Liverpool state mandatory meeting will be held at 7 p.m. today in the high school auditorium. All high school athletes and parents of fall sports athletes are to attend.
Potters holding girls basketball camp
EAST LIVERPOOL - The East Liverpool gils' basketball team will be holding a basketball camp from 1-2:30 p.m. Aug. 14-16 at the LaCroft Elemtary School gym. Oak Glen holding Meet the Team
NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen football team is hosting a Meet the Team night Wednesday at the high school. The evening will start at 5 p.m., and the Meet the Team will begin at 6 p.m. All Oak Glen fall sports have been invited to the event to introduce the teams. There will be food, snow cones and Oak Glen merchandise. There will be games and activities including a sports challenge and a chance to dunk a football coach in the dunk tank. The army will also be there to make dog tags for children.
Women's bowling league to hold meeting
