Online poll asks which football team is best

Beginning today, an online poll will be available at www.reviewonline.com asking which area high school football team you think will be the best this season. The poll will be open for 10 days and the results will featured in The Review's annual High School Football Preview edition which hits stands on Aug. 23. The preview, which for the first time will have three different covers, will also contain other player polls as well as all the information you'll need to get ready for the 2012 season.

Send us your fall sports schedules

The Review is asking area coaches and athletic directors to send us your fall sports schedules. They can be emailed to sports@reviewonline.com or faxed to 330-385-8142.

Touchdown club holding night swim tonight

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Blue & White Touchdown Club is sponsoring a night swim from 8-11 p.m. tonight at Thompson Park. Cost is $4 per person. There will be music and the concession stand will be open.

Concealed handgun class offered

LISBON -The Columbiana County Fish and Game Club will be offering a two-day concealed carry pistol class from 6-10 p.m. Aug. 16 and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 18 at their indoor range. This class meets the CCW requirements for residents of Ohio and West Virginia. The club is located at 45716 Middle Beaver Road Lisbon, Ohio 44432. Pre-registration is required. Cross Country Boosters holding car wash

CHESTER -The Oak Glen Cross Country Boosters will be holding a car wash from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Water World Car Wash. Proceeds will be used for uniforms, equipment and other expenses that the cross country teams incur throughout the season. For information, contact Gaylene Eckleberry 304-374-2107.

Youth Soccer league registration today

EAST LIVERPOOL - The East Liverpool Youth Soccer League will be holding registration from 10 a.m. until noon today at the complex on McGuffey Drive. Southern holding volleyball tryouts

SALINEVILLE - Southern Local Middle School will be holding 7th grade volleyball tryouts from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, 1-3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Athletes must attend all tryouts for the full time unless specific arrangements are made in advance with the coach. Students may participate in tryouts only after obtaining a physical and submitting the physical form. Please enter and exit through the weight room doors in the back of the school. Cheerleading boosters to meet Aug. 7

EAST LIVERPOOL - The East Liverpool High School cheerleading boosters will hold a meeting on Aug. 7 at 6 p.m. in the party room of the East Liverpool Dairy Queen. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend.

Beaver Local starting soccer practice

CALCUTTA - Mandatory practices will begin on Aug. 6 for the Beaver Local High School girls and boys soccer teams. Girls practice is 4-6 p.m. and boys practice is 6-8 p.m. at the soccer field is located behind the middle school. All players are required to submit a physical form and team agreement prior to practice.

Mandatory boys' soccer pratice to be held

EAST LIVERPOOL - East Liverpool High School boys soccer mandatory practice will begin Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the ELYSL fields. All paperwork is needed to participate. For more information, call coach Zack Kinsey at 330-831-8806.

Beaver Local holding golf tryouts Monday

CACLUTTA - Beaver Local will be holding high school golf tryouts at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Beaver Meadows. Participants must have physical and emergency medical form to participate.

Potters holding 8th grade vollyball tryouts

EAST LIVERPOOL - Tryouts for East Liverpool Junior High 8th grade Volleyball will be held from 9-11 a.m. Monday through Wednesday at the Westgate gym.

East Liverpool holding golf tryouts

EAST LIVERPOOL - East Liverpool golf tryouts will be held at Turkana Golf Course on Aug. 6 at 11 a.m. You must have a completed physical in order to participate in tryouts and you must have those forms with you.

Middle school football practiceto be held

NEW MANCHESTER - Oak Glen Middle School football will begin practice on Aug. 6 from 8-10 a.m. Participants need to have a 2.0 GPA, a completed physical, and incoming 7th graders need proof of shots being up to date.
