Hanoverton Salvation Army

holding rummage sale

HANOVERTON -The Hanoverton Salvation Army will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Ruritan Hall on Second Street in Hanoverton.

Stage Left Players hosting

free cabaret night Friday

LISBON - As a thank you to supporters and season ticket holders, Stage Left Players is hosting a free cabaret night.

The event begins at 7 p.m. Friday at 234 Lincolnway and offers free appetizers and beverages, live entertainment by the Stage Left Players, exclusive behind-the-scenes peaks at Stage Left's newest renovations and special offers on tickets.

Today is the deadline for required reservations at 330-831-7249.

Iden Memorial Trap Shoot and

Breakfast is scheduled Saturday

SALEM - The ninth annual Lowell Iden Memorial Trap Shoot and Breakfast is slated Saturday at the Salem Hunting Club, 549 Indiana Ave.

An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served from 7 to 11 a.m.

The public is welcome to participate in trap shooting, a Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle. Lunch will also be available for purchase.

Proceeds are used for scholarships awarded each year to recipients who have chosen a major course of study in a field related to conservation.

This year's recipients were Lindsay Iler (Salem), Sarah Anderson (Hanoverton) and Kayla Coldsnow (Beloit).

Tickets are available in advance or at the club the day of the event. For more information call Janet Iden at 330-332-5765.

meet at First Friends Church

SALEM - Compassionate Friends will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 6 at the First Friends Church on Jennings Avenue.

Deerfield Historical Society's

first Monday dance planned

DEERFIELD -The Deerfield Historical Society's first Monday dance is scheduled from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Deerfield Town Hall, 1450 Route 14.

Food will be available for purchase. Admission is $3 per adult.

United Quilt Guild will meet

at First Presbyterian Church

SALEM - United Quilt Guild plans to meet Aug. 7 at the First Presbyterian Church. UnFinished Objects begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by a baby quilt work session at 2 p.m. and the business meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sandy Lord will present a program titled "How to use big prints."

Free lunches will be served

at Salem Salvation Army

SALEM - Free lunches will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. this month at the Salvation Army, 1249 N. Ellsworth Ave. Meals will be served on Aug. 7, 9, 14, 16, 21 and 23, and the week of Aug. 27-31.

A produce distribution begins at 1 p.m. Aug. 31 on site.

will meet at Perkins Restaurant

SALEM - Members of Salem United Commercial Travelers, Council #590 will meet for dinner at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at Perkins Restaurant.

The business session follows.

Salem Library hosting 'Alligator

Eric's Animal Show' on Aug. 8

SALEM - The Salem Public Library will present "Alligator Eric's Animal Show" at 11 a.m. Aug. 8 to concludes Summer Reading Program.

This program will take place in the gym at St. Paul School and is open to families with children ages 12 and under.

There is no charge to attend but registration is required at the library or by calling 330-332-0042, option 3.

Nursing graduating 100th class

SALEM - The Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing is holding its 100th class graduation at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 in the Salem High School auditorium.

A reception follows in the high school cafeteria.

LEETONIA - An informational meeting for residents of Leetonia, Washingtonville and Franklin Square regarding oil and gas leasing is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Leetonia School cafeteria.

SALEM - Descendants of James and Roxanne Tullis will hold their annual reunion at 1 p.m. Aug. 11 in Pavilion 1 of Centennial Park.

Those attending may bring up to four items for the 1 p.m. white elephant auction. Dinner will be served at 4 p.m.
