East Liverpool golfers Blake Prince and Isaac Davidson compete on Kenny Novak Tour

EAST LIVERPOOL - The road to success can be a long.

This summer, East Liverpool golfers Blake Prince and Isaac Davidson are competing on the Kenny Novak Tour.

Prince leads the tour standings in the boys 16-19 division with 1,084 points.

"I have enjoyed my second year of playing in the Kenny Novak Tour," Prince said. "Being more experienced now has taken some of the pressure away and made it a little easier to play. Moving up the 16-19 age group has given me more competition. I couldn't do it without the support of my family, friends and my swing coach John Talbott."

So far this season, Prince finished tied for ninth at the Kenny Novak No. 3 event at River Greens on June 11, tied for eighth at the Kenny?Novak event June 20 at Windmill Lakes Golf Course, tied for third June 22 at the Kenny Novak No. 6 event at Tanglewood Golf Course, he was second at Kenny Novak No. 7 June 27 at Pine Hills Golf Club, he finished second at the Kenny?Novak event July 2 at Barberton?Brookside, he was third at the Kenny Novak event July 9 at?Williandale Golf Course, second at the Kenny?Novak event July 11 at Grantwood Park and finally he tied for fourth at the Kenny Novak event July 12 at Manakiki Golf Course.

Davidson is currently third in the boys 13-15 standings with 1,129 points.

"I have really enjoyed playing in the Kenny Novak Tour, and it has really helped me," Davidson said. "I couldn't do it without my family and all of the people who support me. I would really like to thank my dad (Jamie) and John Talbott for helping me out with my game. I am excited for the high school season and to try to help out the team."

So far this season, Davidson finished seventh at the Kenny?Novak event June 2 at Mill Creek Park Golf Course, he placed second at the Kenny Novak No. 3 event June 11 at?River Greens, he was also second at the Kenny?Novak event June 20 at Windmill Lakes Golf Course, he finished tied for 10th at the Kenny Novak event June 29 at Fox Den Fairways, he ended up tied for seventh at the Kenny?Novak event July 2 at Barberton?Brookside, he tied for third at the Kenny Novak event July 5 at Big Met Golf Course, he finished first at the Kenny?Novak event July 11 at Grantwood Park and h tied for seventh at the Kenny Novak event July 7 at Manakiki Golf Course.

The next event is Thursday at the Rosemont Country Club in Fairlawn.

Both golfers have qualified for the tour championships. The championships will be held Aug 1-2 at Club Walden.
