ROGERS - Betty Jane Blazer, 81, of Walnut Street, died at 3:22 p.m. Wednesday at the Blossom Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Salem, where she had been a resident for the past year.
Betty Jane was born Aug. 17, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the late Harrison and Margaret Kaplinger Schultz. She resided in the Rogers area for most of her life. She had at one time been employed as a bus driver for the Beaver Local School District.
She had served as the treasurer for the Rogers Volunteer Fire Department for six years and had served on the Rogers Village council.
In addition to her husband, Dale Blazer, whom she married Oct. 16, 1963; she leaves three daughters, Cindy (Michael) K. Davis, Rogers; Stephanie (Scott) Heslen, Rogers; and Lori (Tracy) Blazer, Salem; two sons, Hal (Rhonda) Gorby, Jr., Gorby, Salem; and Michael (Holly) Gorby, Leetonia; five stepdaughters, Barbara (Ron) Westover, Lisbon; Carla (Bob) Roberts, Arizona; Kathy (Mick) Kowalski, Lisbon; Debbie (Mark) Derosa, California; and, Candy (John) Heintzelman, Columbiana; a sister, Ruth (Warren) McCall, Mineral Ridge; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Pastor Mike Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Friday.
