Perry Trustees to meet this morning

SALEM - The Perry Township Trustees plan to meet at 8 a.m. today at the North Station.

Pioneer Village open and operating today

LISBON - Pioneer Village at 12012 Echo Dell Road is open from noon to 3 p.m. today. The Ted Appleby Blacksmith shop, Paul Dailey School, mill, Lower Cabin Home, trading post and the Victorian Williams Farmhouse will be open and operating for public interaction. Corn, buckwheat and wheat will be grinding in the mill and sold in the trading post.

'PNC Day in the Park' planned Sunday

COLUMBIANA - The Firestone Park Summer Concert Series has announced that "PNC Day in the Park" is slated from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the park gazebo. "River Hawk," a high-energy country band, will perform. There will also be face painting, free food and give-aways all afternoon. The concert will be canceled in case of inclement weather.

Columbiana school board to meet Monday

COLUMBIANA - The Columbiana Exempted Village Board of Education will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the high school board room. Members will approve a plan for making up calamity days.

NAMI to meet at Counseling Center

LISBON - The National Alliance on Mental Illness support group meeting begins at 7 p.m. Monday in the community room at the Columbiana Counseling Center on state Route 154. A second meeting on July 23 at same place and time features a speaker from the Mental Health and Wellness Center.

Lisbon school board to meet Tuesday

LISBON - Lisbon Exempted Village Board of Education's regular meeting begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the board room at the BOE office.

Genealogical Society research trip set

LISBON - The Columbiana County Genealogical Society has a planned research trip at 6 p.m. July 11 at the Columbiana County Archives and Research Center, located two doors below the Columbiana County Court House.

Big Back Yard program set Wednesday

SALEM -Kathy Monteleone will present a program on bats during the First Presbyterian Church's Big Back Yard program from 6 to 8 p.m. July 11. The program is part of the "Camp Out" theme for the evening. While there will not be any actual camping, there will be fun, games and food, including sloppy joes, s'mores, related to camping and the outdoors. The free program is open to the public at 436 E. Second St.

New Waterford 1955 breakfast set

NEW WATERFORD - The New Waterford High School Class of 1955 will meet for breakfast at 11:30 a.m. July 11 at the Pizza Hut in Columbiana.

LISBON - The David Anderson High School Class of 1956 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. July 11 at the Taste of Country.

Salem 1967 reunion meeting Thursday

SALEM - The Salem High School Class of 1967's reunion meeting begins at 7 p.m. July 12 at the SHS Alumni Office.

Crestview after prom committee to meet

COLUMBIANA -The Crestview after prom committee will meet at at 7 p.m. July 12 at the Crestview Middle school pavilion. The Columbiana County Fair fund raiser will be discussed. All parents of the Crestview class of 2014 are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Picnic for former A&P employees

SALEM - A&P retirees and former employees are invited to a picnic at 5:30 p.m. July 16 in pavilion 2 at Centennial Park. Attendees are to bring a coverdish and table service.

GREENFORD - The Greenford High School Class of 1958 plans to meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. July 19 at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.

Elkrun Township trustee meetings

ELKRUN TOWNSHIP -The Elkrun Township trustees' meetings begins at 7 p.m. July 10 and 24 at the township administration building. The public is welcome.

Community Center 3-on-3 basketball

SALEM - The Salem Community Center and Center Circle will be holding a 3-on-3 basketball tournament on July 28. Registration is open through 9 a.m. July 28. Cost is $45 per team until July 9 and $55 per team from July 10-28.

Age groups are as follows: Grades 4-6, Grades 7-8, Grades 9-12, 18-34 years old and 35 and up. Boys and Girls Divisions are available for all age groups.

Rosters must have three players, but no more than four. Individuals may only appear on one roster. Any co-ed team must play in the boys division.

Harvest Festival at Zoar Village

ZOAR -A nationally-renowned antiques show and sale is one of the highlights of Historic Zoar Village's Harvest Festival, slated from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 4 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 5.The annual Harvest Festival, now in its 39th year, honors the Zoarite tradition of gathering the final summer wheat in early August. More than 60 dealers of high-quality country antiques will be on site selling historic treasures. A tent in the Main Zoar Garden will feature homemade German food, beer and live musical performances throughout the weekend. Admission is $7 for adults and free for children 12 and under.
