Mr. and Mrs. Gene Johnson celebrate golden anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Johnson of Salem are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

The former Kay Morris, daughter of the late Art and Doris Morris, and Mr. Johnson, son of the late Clifford and Ethelda Johnson, were married on June 30, 1962, at the First Christian Church in Columbiana. They were united in marriage by the Rev. Alton Witter of the former Columbiana Bible Church, now Columbiana Baptist. They are presently active members at the rapid growing Faith Chapel Fellowship in Salem.

Mr. Johnson is employed at his barber shop in Salem, serving patrons for 19 years.

Mrs. Johnson is a hairdresser at the Lexington Courtyard and has been making Message Bracelets for seven years.

They have four children, Jeanette(Jamie) Walton, Mark (Kim) Johnson, Matt (Jodie) Johnson and Beth (Cody) Johnson.

They also have three grandchildren, Zach Austin, Amberly Austin and Tifani Walton and two great-grandchildren, Emily Austin and Lucian Austin.
