SALEM - Christopher "Chris" William Gardner, 35, of Salem died Friday, June 15, 2012 in Dorset, Ohio.
He was born, Aug. 31, 1976 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Harold W. Gardner and Karen S. (Kerby) Gardner Stallman.
Chris had been employed as a roofer with Converse Construction in Guilford Lake for 14 years and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was a graduate of Marlington High School and had lived in Salem for 20 years. He was a member of the Salem AMVETS Post 45 and a proud supporter of the Marine Corps.
Survivors include his mother, Sue (Eugene) Stallman of Dorset, Ohio; father, Skip H. W. (Becky) Gardner of Salem; two sisters, Kelly G. Gardner of Salem and Lori A. Foor of Salem; two stepsisters, Jo Gomoll of East Liverpool and Tammy Greathouse of Elizabeth, West Virginia; brother, Daniel J. Jones of Jefferson, Ohio; stepbrother, Bob Hillman of Leetonia; nephews, Scot D., Tyler J. and Dale J. Gardner, Shawn L. Foor Jr., Isaac N. Foor, Josh and Jason Gomoll and Austin Greathouse; nieces, Shawna and Corena Foor, Marissa Stallman, and Pheobe and Shaida Greathouse; and great niece, Gracie Gardner.
Preceding him in death was a great nephew, Cash Gardner; uncle Leon Kerby; and his grandparents, Helen and Freddie Kerby.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Francis Burkhart officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the services. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the family to help with expenses.
