Summer HEAP?applications accepted

LISBON- The 2012 HEAP Summer Crisis Program through the Community Action Agency's Summer Crisis Program is offering assistance to households in electric disconnect. Eligible households require account holders at least 18 years old and living in the house with an entire household income under 200 percent of the federal poverty level. Households with a documented medical need ("Due to a chronic illness, this client would benefit from continued electric service and/or air conditioning"), and those households with a member who is 60 years or older, may also be eligible for assistance. All households must have incomes under 200 percent of the federal poverty level, with verification of income. Applicants must provide an electric and gas bill. If the applicant is disabled, he/she must have proof of disability at the time of the application. Appointments may be scheduled by calling the automated system at 330-424-1386. All required documents are listed on the automated system. Walk-ins are only seen on Monday; numbers are put out by 7 a.m., and clients are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Concealed carry pistol class set in Lisbon

LISBON- The Columbiana County Fish and Game Club is offering a two-day concealed carry pistol class from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at its indoor range, 45716 Middle Beaver Road. The class meets the CCW requirements for residents of Ohio and West Virginia. Pre-registration is required. Recycle Fashion Show hosted by Kent State

EAST?LIVERPOOL- Kent State Environment Club (E.L.O.) is hosting its third annual Recycle Fashion Show at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Scott College of Cosmetology. Use the side entrance. Everyone is welcomed. There is a $5 cover charge to attend and $5 to participate. WKBN's Jeff Levkulich will act as master of ceremonies. There will be cash prizes awarded and refreshments will be served during the event. Anyone wishing to participate in modeling recycle clothing can pick up applications along with rules and regulations at KSU East Liverpool campus front desk.

Camp Fire USA resident camp set

EAST LIVERPOOL- Camp Fire USA is accepting registrations for resident camp being held June 27 through 29 for boys and girls entering third-, fourth- or fifth-grade in the Fall. Camp Taoka is located at 12385 Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool. Children do not need to be a member of Camp Fire USA to attend.
