Wayne and Betty Herron of Salem will be honored on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house reception. Family and friends are invited from 2 to 4 p.m. June 24 at the Salem Golf Club on South Lincoln Avenue, Salem.
The former Betty Weaver, daughter of Arland and Ruth Weaver, and Mr. Herron, son of Carl and Hazel Herron, were married June 24, 1962, by the Rev. Ray Patterson of the Phillips Christian Church.
Mr. Herron is a self-employed dairy and grain farmer and a retired Butler Township trustee. Mrs. Herron, a certified decorative artist, taught decorative art. They are active members of the Winona Methodist Church.
The celebration will be hosted by their family. The couple has a daughter, Cindy (Dr. Anthony) Christani of Sebring; two sons, Rodney (Chris) Herron and Tim (Emily) Herron, all of Salem; and nine grandchildren.
