Katherine Jeanette Pylypiak became the bride of Benjamin Alan Detwiler on March 31 at the United Methodist Church of Macedonia. The bride is the daughter of Dennis and Andrea Pylypiak of Macedonia. The bridegroom's parents are Samuel and Monica Detwiler of Columbiana.
The Rev. Kathryn Adams officiated at the 2 p.m. double-ring ceremony.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a taffeta ballgown with a sweetheart neckline, cap sleeves and a high back with lace details and a fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of pink and orange Amazon roses, cymbidium orchids, purple lisianthus and green hypernicum berries.
Alexa Pylypiak, the bride's sister, served as maid of honor.
Wearing plum dresses in various styles of their choice were bridesmaids Andrea Detwiler, the bridegroom's sister; Joree Jacobs, Lakshmi Rangaswamy, Krista Foster, Ashley Vogel and Kristina Harris.
Timothy Detwiler, the bridegroom's brother, was the best man.
Groomsmen were Garrett Lunger, Ryan Hart, Geoffrey Trees, Brian Bagwell, David Cornich and Mohammad Rameezuddin.
A reception followed at the SYB Hall in Stow.
The couple resides in Palo Alto, Calif. They are planning a honeymoon trip in June to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Nordonia High School. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Youngstown State University in 2009 and a master's of occupational therapy from Cleveland State University in 2011. She is employed at Los Altos SubAcute and Rehabilitation Center.
A 2005 graduate of South Range High School, the bridegroom earned bachelor's degrees in electrical engineering and accounting and business administration from Youngstown State University in 2011. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in electrical engineering at Stanford University.
