LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court Tuesday, Michael Morris, 46, Canton, was fined $1,175, was sentenced to 90 days in jail, required 50 hours community service and had his license suspended for six months for possession of marijuana, OVI first offense, open container and driving under suspension. An unauthorized use of plate charge was dismissed.

-?Evan R. Mills, 18, Westville Lake Road, Beloit, was fined $775, had his license suspended for 180 days, was sentenced to 20 days in jail and required 40 hours community service for OVI first offense and criminal damaging for getting a pickup stuck in the middle of two yards on Butler Grange Road, Salem on March 14. A contributing to the delinquency of a child charge was dismissed. Both Mills and his 17-year-old passenger reportedly admitted to drinking, according to court documents.

-?Kenneth F. Backus, 48, Homestead Boulevard, East Liverpool, was fined $700, had his license suspended for 180 days and was sentenced to 20 days in jail for OVI first offense and failure to control.

-?Shannon Douglas, 32, Ridgefield Avenue, Alliance, was fined $200, sentenced to five days in jail and required 40 hours community service for theft for taking a box of tide, hair ties, dish soap and carpet freshener from Dollar General in Alliance.

-?Robert F. Milliman, 50, Lyons, N.Y., was fined $150 for unsafe vehicle amended from speeding.

-?Randy R. Pennell, 49, Hitchcock Road, Boardman, was fined $150 for unsafe vehicle amended from gross overload.

-?Christopher M. Swartz, 32, Salineville Road West, Salineville, was fined $100 and required 20 hours community service for driving under FRA suspension.

-?John Isabella III, 48, Poland, was fined $100 for failure to control amended from reckless operation.

-?Tina L. Sinkovich, 33, Hearthside Drive, Salem, was fined $50 for unsafe vehicle amended from failure to control.

-?Vaibhav Swami, 32, Presto, Pa., was fined $30 for speeding.

-?An April 30 pretrial was set for James R. Thomas, 44, Middle Beaver Road, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence for allegedly stabbing his wife's arm and punching her in the jaw during an argument on Monday. His wife, Erica L. Thomas, 33, also had a pretrial set for the same day on a domestic violence charge for allegedly trying to stab her husband, cutting his left arm, throwing both a frying pan and pipe wrench and striking him during the same argument.

-?A May 3 pretrial was set for Alicia Marie Stafford, 29, Park Avenue, East Palestine, charged with OVI second offense and marked lanes.

-?A May 21 pretrial was set for Robert B. Wirks, 41, Darlington Road, Darlington, Pa., charged with physical control of a vehicle after he was reportedly found passed out in his pickup, which was running and sitting in a parking lot on East Taggart Street Sunday.

-?A May 22 pretrial was set for Timothy W. Hippely, 34, Salem Grange Road, Salem, charged with driving under suspension.

-?A May 24 pretrial was set for Patrick L. Griffith, 32, Maple Hill Road, Salineville, charged with driving under suspension and a lane violation.

-?A May 29 pretrial was set for Thomas J. Mercer Jr., 19, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, charged with OVI first offense and speeding.

-?A June 6 pretrial was set for Brigham L. Young, 24, East Grant Street, Alliance, charged with OVI third offense, driving under suspension, failure to control and hit skip/leave scene. According to court documents, Young reportedly struck the pillar of a building; a pedestrian, Anthony Gregory, who went onto the hood of the vehicle, but was unhurt, and then crashed into a utility pole before running from the vehicle in Salem on Saturday.

-?A June 7 pretrial was set for George M. Barth, 42, Youngstown, cited with speeding.

-?A June 18 pretrial was set for Jerry W. Castelucci Jr., 21, state Route 558, Leetonia, charged with theft after allegedly taking cigarettes from the Columbiana Circle K on April 10.
