Participating in the official ribbon cutting ceremony of the fenced-in grass playground at the Columbiana County Dog Pound were the dedicated volunteers and Chief Deputy Dog Warden Shannon Triplett, project planner and coordinator Theresa Bosel, Commissioner Mike Halleck, and David Rutecki, owner of the family business Estherlee Fence Co., Inc. Rutecki donated the fencing and labor for the project which would normally cost over $5,000. Merchant Metals, Inc. also donated chain link fence materials and D.W. Dickey & Sons donated the concrete. the fence installers were Randy Obenauf, Kelly Obenauf, Dennis Walton and Steve Streb. Canine residents on hand included recently adopted Sergeant Kane with his owner Marsha McGinnis, Lionel, a 5-year-old lab mix that has been at the pound since January and 9-year-old Sarah whose owner passed away. Lionel, Sarah and others are up for adoption.
