Wrestling banquet being held

WELLSVILLE - The Wellsville Takedown Club will be holding their awards banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday at Wellsville High School. This is for the Wellsville Tiger Mites and the Wellsville Jr. High wrestlers. Wrestlers are asked to turn in their singlets at the banquet.

Glenmoor Rams holding signups

EAST LIVERPOOL -The Glenmoor Rams will hold their first sign ups from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Calcutta YMCA. The cost for the first child is $40, the second child is $20 and $10 for third player and each additional player thereafter. Payment plans available if needed. Memorial Golf tournament to be held

CALCUTTA - The 19th Annual Marcus Lauva Memorial Golf Tournament will be held June 23 at Beaver Creek Meadows. Referred to as "The Fli Memorial," this year's event returns to Beaver Creek Meadows for the third consecutive year. It's a four-man scramble with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start. A continental breakfast is available during check-in, while a full buffet is available at 1 p.m. Hole prizes, skins, door prizes, Chinese auction, and hole-in-one grand prizes among the day's activities. The individual golfer fee is $65 and foursomes are $260 each ($240 if paid by June 20th). Sponsorships offer special benefits and several packages are available. East Liverpool seeking five coaches

EAST LIVERPOOL - East Liverpool is seeking coaches for head varsity girls basketball, reserve girls basketball, freshman girls basketball, eighth grade girls basketball and seventh grade girls basket. East Liverpool is also seeking a freshman volleyball coach. Anyone interested is asked to apply through the office of the superintendent. The deadline to apply is April 12.

Ohio River catfish tourney to begin in May

CHESTER - The Chester-Newell Sportsmen Club will be holding their annual Ohio River Catfish Tournaments beginning May 19 from 7 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday. Open to the public. Entry fee is $10 per fisherman. Sign up at Chaney's Sunoco station in Chester or call 304-387-3982.

Mixed doubles tennis league to be held

BOARDMAN - The Boardman Tennis Center is offering an "A" Mixed Doubles League on Sundays in April and a series of singles tournaments on Wednesday nights. The mixed league allows non-members as well as club members. The cost is more for non-members. The singles tournaments will have an eight-player draw each Wednesday night in which two of the eight can be non-members. Gift certificates will be given to the finalist of each singles tournament.
