A North Benton bicyclist is dead after being struck by a vehicle on Western Reserve Road Thursday morning.
Robert G. Baird Jr., 29, 9 state Route 14, was pronounced dead on scene by the Mahoning County Coroner's Office following the crash just west of Beloit Snodes Road at 6:59 a.m.
According to the Canfield post of the State Highway Patrol, Baird was riding a bicycle eastbound when he was struck by a 1997 Dodge Caravan driven by Mitchel L. White, 42, of Sebring, who was also eastbound.
White sustained no injuries in the crash.
The highway patrol was still investigating the crash at press time. Funeral arrangements are pending at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home in Salem.
