NEW MANCHESTER - Steve Barr recorded two hits and two RBI leading the Oak Glen baseball team to a 5-3 victory Friday over visiting Magnolia.

Also for the Golden Bears (1-4), Trey Smith tallied as single, a double and an RBI, Tanner Crago and Kole Koper each contributed a single and an RBI and Tyler Steed delivered a double.

Bub Haddox picked up the win on the mound. He struck out 10 while walking eight. He limited the Blue Eagles to five hits. Haddox helped his own cause with a double at the plate.

Oak Glen scored two runs in the first inning, two more in the fourth and one in the fifth. Magnolia scored all three of its runs in the bottom of the fourth.

The Golden Bears committed two errors in the game. The Blue Eagles had none.

"That is the first time I have ever beaten Magnolia," Oak Glen head coach Lou Nagy said. "They knocked us out of regionals last year.
