SHS '68 to meet for dinner
SALEM-The Salem High School Class of 1968 will meet for dinner at 6 p.m. April 10 at at Ricky's English Pub.
SCH?Auxiliary to meet
SALEM-The Salem Community Hospital Auxiliary meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. April 12 in the small dining room at the back of the hospital cafeteria. The guest speaker is Audrey Null, executive director, Salem Area Chamber of Commerce.
R-Weigh holds meeting
SALEM- Pauline Zirkle was recognized as good loser for the week when the R-Weigh weight groups met Monday at Faith Chapel. A loss of 27 pounds was recorded for the week. Goalies were Roni Fauver and Shirley Dias. The birthday award went to Susan Cain the and vacation award went to Rita Olenick. The afternoon basketball first team won the game 8 to 4. The evening team group's second team won the game 29 to 23. Scoring three-point baskets were Chris Learn, Lois Wood, Beth Anthram, Beverly Armitage, Edie Sternburg, Zirkle and Olenick. Each received $2. Karen Morris presented a program at the afternoon meeting on the serving amounts of protein, fiber and vegetables for dinner with a side dish of fruit. The afternoon members who have birthdays January through March will bring low-fat, low-calorie food with recipes on March 26. Karen Pauline presided at the evening meeting and presented a program showing pictures of high-fat high-calorie foods and the alternative selection of low-fat, low calorie foods we should eat. Roni Fauver from the day group will be a guest speaker at the evening group, sharing her successful weight loss plan losing 52 pounds in six months without a gain and has continued to be a below goal member for a year. The basketball contest ends Monday and a new contest begins on April 2 at both groups.
SHS?'67 meeting planned
SALEM-The Salem High School Class of 1967's reunion meeting begins at 7 p.m. March 28 at the Salem High School Alumni Office on East State Street.
La Leche League conference
MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa.-La Leche League of Western Pennsylvania's area breastfeeding and parenting conference, "Mother to Mother Support, Our Foundation Our Future," begins at 9:15 a.m. April 28. The alumnae dinner and reception will be held on April 27 at the Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport in Moon Township. The dinner and reception is open to all La Leche League members and their families, and Saturday is open to the general public. The evening's highlights include LLL co-founder Marian Tompson speaking about her new book, "Passionate Journey: My Unexpected Life." She will be available to answer questions and to sign books. Special conference guests include LLL leader Cindy Garrison, former EUS division director and co-chair of LLL board of directors; Laura Probst, associate leader department administrator of Great Lakes Region; Beverly Ann Curtis, board member of the United States Breastfeeding Committee and former LLL leader. Portrait Playtime photographer Jessica Wallach will take family photographs both Friday and Saturday. Items donated by local businesses will be part of a silent auction on Friday evening and all day Saturday.
TOPS?1380 holds meeting
SALEM-TOPS 1380 met March 19 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Cindy Eastman, leader, presiding. Best losers were Jeannie Luxeuil, honorable mention; and Cora Jean Briggs, KOPS. Luxeuil, TOPS; and Briggs, KOPS, were also crowned March royalty. Luxeuil won the Rolling Cash Five and Shirley Bullis read for the circle of light. Members were asked to pray for member Dorothy Mussler. The Recognition Banquet begins at 5:45 p.m. March 26 at Ricky's English Pub. There will be no weigh-ins and officers will be installed. The next meeting is April 2 at the church.
Arts and crafts show slated
SALEM-The 25th annual Arts and Crafts in-the-Park will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 23 at Centennial Park. Set-up begins at 7 a.m., rain or shine.
Spaces are currently available for rent. Cost for a 20x20-foot space is $25 and you bring your own tables and chairs; or $35 for an 8-foot table and chairs provided. No electric is available. Tents are allowed. Mail your check or money order to: Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St., Salem, Ohio 44460 and state your preference. For more information call 330-332-5512. Each vendor is asked to donate one item to the Chinese auction.

SALEM-Twenty-two members of Weingart Cousins met for breakfast recently at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club. The next breakfast begins at 9 a.m. April 10.

SALEM-The Salem High School Class of 1940 plans to meet for lunch at noon April 3 at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.
Super Bingo Sunday returns
COLUMBIANA-Super Bingo Sunday games begin at 2 p.m. April 1 at St. Jude Parish, 180 Seventh St. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. A $25 donation entitles you to a free dauber, coffee and pop for the entire day, cards for all regular games (specials are sold separately). There will be a lunch counter and bake sale. St. Jude Women's Guild is sponsoring its 21st annual St. Jude Craft Show to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at St. Jude Activity Center. Faith Court installs officers
SALEM-Faith Court Order of Amaranth held its annual installation of officers on March 17 at the Salem Masonic Building. Installing officers were Steve Ronshausen, installing; Russ Carnes, assistant; Janice Styer, aide; Floyd Styer, aide; Clair Arnt, prelate; and Lana Carnes, secretary. The following officers were installed: Rebecca Ronshausen, royal matron; Gary Ronshausen, junior royal patron; Gary Ronshausen Sr., associate patron; Kathleen Ronshausen, associate matron; Jim Forney, treasurer; Donna Forney, secretary; Brenda Klein, conductress; Kate Ronshausen, trustee; Pat Grimes, standard bearer; Eric Forney, trustee; and Evelyn Phillips, musician. A donation for scholarships was given to Sandra Jarret, grand royal matron. A dinner was held before the meeting.
