SALEM-The Salem High School Class of 1972 has scheduled a class reunion committee meeting at 6 p.m. March 22 at BB Rooners.
Southern Local District Showcase
SALINEVILLE-All Southern Local parents and community members are invited to attend the annual District Showcase from 6 to 8:30 p.m. March 22. All classrooms will be displaying student work and student performances will be held in both the elementary gym and the junior-senior high school cafeteria. The annual Health Fair, Art Show and Family and Consumer Science show will be in the high school gym along with the FFA Petting Zoo and the Relay For Life raffle baskets.
High school parents will be asked to complete a satisfaction survey on computers provided in the high school media center hallway as they tour the building and view the student work on display.
The Athletic Boosters and the football team will be sponsoring a pasta dinner from 5 to 6 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria. Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children.
Roast beef diner in New Waterford
NEW WATERFORD-The New Waterford Lions Club will hold a roast beef dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. March 24 at Crestview High School. Presale tickets are $8.50 for adults and $4 for children. At the door prices are $9.50 and $4.50. Dinner is served family style and includes dessert. Proceeds benefit the scholarship fund.
DAMASCUS-The Damascus Ruritan Club will serve its 47th annual spring Swiss steak dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 24 at the West Branch High School cafeteria. The menu includes Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, bread, pie, hot and cold beverages. Cost is $9 in advance and $9.50 at the door; children 6 to 12 is half price and free for under 6. Carryouts will be available.
Bingo for Little Clipper Football

Business networking breakfast
COLUMBIANA-Community members and local businesses are invited to attend a business networking breakfast at 7:30 a.m. March 30 at Das Dutch Haus, hosted by the Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce. Featured speaker, Jason Wilson, director of the Governor's Office of Appalachia, will address the opportunities and challenges facing businesses and citizens in the Ohio Appalachian area. Reservations are $10 for chamber members and $15 for non-members and may be made by calling the chamber office 330-482-3822 by March 28.
Spaghetti dinner fund raiser
LISBON-A spaghetti dinner and bake sale fund raiser is being planned for Dawn Baker of Salem who was diagnosed with brain cancer several months ago. After surgery, she is currently receiving chemo and other treatments.
The dinner will be held from 3 to 6:30 p.m. March 31 at the Mason Lodge, 36192 Route 172, Lisbon. Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and free for under 3. Carryouts are available. There also will be a "pick a balloon" and get a prize for 5 each. Donations are needed for this event.
Corn hole raffles will be available at $5 per ticket. The ticket will be drawn the night of the event (no tickets sales at the event). Salem VFW auxiliary hosts breakfast
SALEM - The Salem V.F.W. Post 892 Men's Auxiliary is hosting a public breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the post headquarters at 496 Arch St. The cost is $4 for a menu which includes haystacks or a traditional breakfast of eggs, pancakes, hash browns, sausage patties, toast, orange juice and coffee.
