(AP) -The long-rumored trade has become a reality. The Cavaliers have traded point guard Ramon Sessions and guard/forward Christian Eyenga to the Los Angeles Lakers for forward Luke Walton and a first-round pick in the 2012 draft.
If the Lakers' pick is in the top 14, they're able to hold onto it.
Sessions, 25, evolved into one of the best backup point guards in the NBA. He averaged 10.5 points and 5.2 assists in 40 games this season.
However, he held a player option on next year's contract. He was going to opt out of the deal and become a free agent.
