Salem News

- A state Route 518, Hanoverton, man reported at 11:56 p.m. Feb. 11 he had three friends over to play video games and then the three suddenly left the house, talking to him later on the phone and accusing him of steeling a can of chewing tobacco from one of them. He went outside to talk to one of them and the three friends allegedly began to attack him. He claimed one ran him over with a Chevy Cruze and he was kicked and struck by two of them while on the ground. Deputies met with the other three men. The driver showed deputies his Cruze, which had a fist-sized place smashed on the windshield. They claimed the callerwas the aggressor, although one admitted punching him in the face a few times to defend himself. The caller's mother claimed a prescription bottle of Valium was missing after the men left.
