AUSTINTOWN - The No. 2 West Branch Girls took another step in the postseason by defeating No. 7 Cardinal Mooney, 51-35, in the Division II Tournament at Austintown on Saturday.
Rebekah Zets led the Warriors with 13 points. Taryn Hahn added 10. Pavin Heath had eight points and eight rebounds.
Mooney was led by Jamie DiDomenico who scored 10.
West Branch (20-2) next plays Poland Thursday.
In other Austintown action, Canfield defeated Southeast (61-29) and Ravenna topped Crestwood (62-49). The winners face off Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

MINERAL?RIDGE - Top-seeded United turned away No. 6 Brookfield, 41-36, to move on to the semifinal of the Division IV Girls Tournament at Mineral Ridge on Saturday.
Emily Zehentbauer scored 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, to lead the Eagles.
Cassidy Yoder added eight points and Mackenxie Gatchel added seven.
For Brookfield, Tori Thomspon scored a game-high 11. Ashlee Kirilla chipped in nine.
Pymatuning Valley topped Girardin the other quarterfinal, 56-49, to earn the spot opposite United in Thursday's semifinal. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
