BELOIT - The West Branch Warriors were nearly giant-slayers for the second time this season.

West Branch and Alliance were knotted up at 34 apiece at the 5:40 mark in the fourth quarter before the Aviators went on a 12-1 run to close the game for a 47-36 win.

Alliance improves to 15-0, 8-0 in the NBC.

West Branch had knocked off previously unbeaten East Liverpool earlier in the season.

Leading the Aviators was J.J. Kukura with 13 points. Jalen Mays added 10.

For the Warriors, Matt Latham had 10 points and four assists, and Scott Muckleroy had six points and six rebounds. Jacob Griffith and Kip DeShields also added six points each.

Alliance also won the jayvee game 62-45.

Dustin Greenawalt had 14 points for the Warriors. DeShields added eight.

West Branch (7-6, 4-6 NBC) plays Friday at Canton South.

Crestview 46, United 27

HANOVERTON - Crestview jumped out to an early 13-5 first quarter lead and cruised to a 46-27 win over United Friday.

Leading the Rebels was Nate Climo and Adam Coppock with 10 points each.

Leading the Eagles was Caleb Conser with 11 points. Brett Albright added nine.

Crestview won the jayvee game 50-17. Derek Bable had 12 for the Rebels.

Crestview (11-4, 7-3 ITCL Tier 1) hosts league-leading Springfield (12-2, 9-1 ITCL Tier 1) Tuesday. The Tigers beat Mineral Ridge 90-49 Friday.

United (0-13, 0-9 ITCL Tier 1) travels to South Range.

EAST PALESTINE - The East Palestine Bulldogs earned their seventh win of the season with a 56-30 victory over Columbiana at home on Friday.

Jake DiCello scored a game-high 17 points and recorded 5 assists. Fellow Bulldog Austen Reiser finished with a double-double. He scored 15 points and pulled down 12 points. Cody Stewart had 10 boards.

For Columbiana, Jake DeJong led with 11 points.

East Palestine is now 7-5 overall and 6-3 in league play.

The junior varsity Bulldogs won 64-32. Billy Bibby led the way with 18 points.

Columbiana (1-14, 1-9 ITCL Tier 1) hosts Mineral Ridge Tuesday.

SALINEVILLE - Western Reserve pulled off the season sweep of Southern with a 48-46 road win Friday.

Leading the Blue Devils was Jeff Clegg with 17 points. Tom Benyo added 11 points, and Cory Zimmerman had nine points and seven rebounds.

For Southern, Dylan Ketchum had a team-high 14 points. J.J. Napierkowski added 13.

Western Reserve (8-6, 5-5 ITCL Tier 2) plays at Sebring Tuesday.

Southern (8-5, 4-4 ITCL Tier 2) hosts Jackson-Milton.
