Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lora of 1869 Whinnery Road, Salem, were recently honored on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. A reception was held at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at The Links at Firestone in Columbiana. In addition to family and friends, guests included almost everyone who was in their original wedding party.
The celebration was hosted by their daughters, Diane Rae (Lora) Mullen of Millersburg and Colleen Allison (Lora) Clark of Upper Arlington.
Also joining in the festivities were their three grandchildren, Patrick, Terry and Allison.
The former Twila Diane Allison and Mr. Lora were married on Nov. 11, 1961, by the Rev. Clarence Sekerak at the East Goshen Friends Church in Beloit.
Mr. Lora graduated from Goshen High School in 1956 and served in the Army. He retired after 40 years of service with Burroughs Corp-Unisys Corp. His parents are the late John and Olive Lora.
Mrs. Lora, daughter of the late William and Thelma Allison, was employed for 20 years at Southeast School. She graduated in 1958 from Salem High School.
The Loras are members of the First Christian Church, Salem Historical Society and Salem Elks Lodge. His hobbies are computers and trains. She enjoys her home, grandchildren, reading and going to Florida.
The couple was also honored on Feb. 18 at their daughter's wedding reception in Naples, Fla., with a caked topped with a gold numeral 50.
