Swiss steak supper today
HOMEWORTH-Mount Carmel United Methodist Church at 23250 Main Street will host its monthly Swiss steak supper from 4 to 7 p.m. today. Cost is $8 for adults, $3 for children ages 4 to 12 and free for under 3. The meal includes mashed potatoes, mushrooms, green beans, corn, rolls, dessert and beverages. Carryouts are available.
Drive-thru chicken dinners
NORTH LIMA-Drive-thru chicken dinners will be sold from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 12, or until sold out, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave. Cost is $6 per dinner and consists of a stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. Free dinner and movie
NORTH BENTON- A free dinner and a movie is scheduled Jan. 15 at the North Benton Presbyterian Church, 19070 North Benton West Road.
Spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and a beverage will be served at 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall. The movie, titled "Courageous," is rated PG-13 and follows at 6 p.m. Filled with action-packed police drama, the movie features law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, David Thomson and Shane Fuller as confident and focused. Yet, at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood.
Although tickets for the event are free, those interested in attending are asked to call the office at 330-584-5490 or Pastor Herb Goetz at 724-421-5192. Day care will be provided. If desired, attendees may bring a lawn chair, bean bag chair, camp chair, etc., to sit on instead of the folding chairs supplied by the church.

WINONA-The Winona Friends Church on Whinnery Road will serve a baked pork chop dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the Family Life Center. Breakfast in Damascus
DAMASCUS-An all-you-can eat breakfast will be served from 7 to 11 am. Jan. 21 at the Damascus United Methodist Church. Proceeds will go in the youth director's fund. The next breakfast is Feb. 1 8.
