HANOVERTON - There wasn't much offense Friday night in Hanoverton as the Warriors and Eagles combined for just 61 points. However, it was West Branch who remained in control of the contest for the duration for a 40-21 victory.

Leading the Warriors was Matt Latham with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jacob Griffith added six points. The Warriors out-rebounded United 29-8.

For the Eagles, Brett Albright had seven points. Paul Faulkner had five rebounds.

West Branch also won the jayvee contest 50-23. Dustin Greenawalt had 11 points for the Warriors. Devin Minard had eight for United.

West Branch (1-0) continues action Tuesday hosting Southeast.

United (0-1) will try to regroup Tuesday in Salem.

LORDSTOWN - Sebring got its season off to a winning start dropping Lordstown 61-36 in a varsity-only affair. Leading the Trojans was Corey Baia with 12 points and six rebounds. Jake Hubbs added 11 points and seven steals, and Dakota Wagner had eight points, 11 boards, five steals and three blocks.

Kyle Johnson had 10 for Lordstown.

Sebring (1-0) travels to Jackson-Milton Friday.

LISBON - Lisbon's Zach Rovnak tallied 14 points, three assists, and five steals and the Blue Devils defeated Southern 49-44 Friday. Drew Sweeney added 10 points, five boards and five steals. C.J. Dawson had eight points and seven rebounds.

For Southern, Luke Griffith had 20 points. Kyler Woodward added 11.

Southern won the jayvee contest 49-45. Corey Brammer had 23 for Lisbon. Andrew Russel and Clayton Cunningham had 15 each for Southern.

Lisbon (1-0) plays Tuesday at Leetonia.

YOUNGSTOWN - Youngstown Christian rallied from a 33-23 halftime deficit to force overtime and beat East Palestine 67-58. Leading Youngstown Christian was Daylen Williams with 23 points. For East Palestine, Cody Stewart had 13 points, and Zak Brockman and Tyler Foster had 11 points each. Jake DiCello had 10 points and nine assists. Austin Reiser had 11 rebounds. Youngstown Christian also won the jayvee game 41-18. Youngstown Christian (1-0) will play Tuesday at South Range. East Palestine (0-1) plays Friday at United.
