Night for seniors, Conser

SALEM - It was a special night for the Salem Lady Quakers and their coach. Salem picked up a win on Senior Night over Carrollton, and their coach reached an amazing milestone.

The Lady Quakers defeated the Lady Warriors 25-14, 25-12, 23-25, 25-16. Leading Salem were seniors Cassie Davidson, Kayleigh Null, Alexis Smith and Becca Devlin. Smith had four aces, 19 digs and 19 kills. Davidson added an ace, nine digs and 14 kills. Devlin had a dig, six kills and five blocks, and Null had two aces, three kills, nine digs and 25 assists. Katherine Stiff also added a kill, a block, seven digs and 18 assists, and Sami Reedy had three aces and 15 digs.

In addition to the Senior Night festivities, head coach Don Conser was honored as the all-time winningest coach in Ohio with 635 career wins. He achieved the feat earlier this season when he hit win No. 632. A proclamation written by Salem Mayor Jerry Wolford was read declaring today, Friday, Oct. 14, Don Conser Day in the city of Salem.

The team ended the regular season 21-1 and a perfect 14-0 in Northeastern Buckeye Conference play and will begin Division II tournament play Tuesday against Niles in Boardman at 7:30 p.m .
