Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hite celebrate 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hite of 788 W. Pershing St., Salem, were honored on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary at a surprise reception on July 10 at the Saxon Club. The festivities were hosted by their children, and five grandchildren. Also joining in the celebration were their five great-grandchildren.

The former Gracy A. Blackburn and Mr. Hite were married on July 11, 1951, in Pikeville, Ky.

Mr. Hite was employed for 39 1/2 years at Eljer Plumbingware, retiring in 1994.

Mrs. Hite retired in 1997 following 28 years of employment at Warren Molded Plastics (Ventra Salem).

Their children and spouses are Patti (Steve) Andres and Sherri (Tom) Boosz, all of Salem, and Larry (Debbie) Hite of Allen, Ky.

Out-of-town guests attended from Kentucky, New York and Michigan.
