EAST PALESTINE -Durita F. Black, 70, of 6611 Justison Road, died at 11:20 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Boardman Campus following an 11-year battle with cancer.
Mrs. Black was born Dec. 30, 1940 in Salem, a daughter of Clarence and Mildred Griffith Cope and had lived in this area all of her life.
Durita was a nurse's aide for Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 22 years, retiring in 2003. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband Wallace L. Black, whom she married Nov. 8, 1969; a daughter, Valerie Rimoldi Rader of New Galilee, Pa.; two sons, Kerry (Valerie) Rimoldi of Mansfield and Ronald (Tammy) Black of Salem; a brother, James (Paula) Cope of East Palestine; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Mr. Gary Sloan officiating. Burial will follow in East Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
