Michael and Karen Lodyn of Boardman are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Melanie Lynn Lodyn, to Michael Christopher Oberle. He is the son of Christopher and Melissa Oberle of Columbiana County.
The bride-elect graduated summa cum laude from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She is a teacher with Boardman Local Schools and at Sylvan Learning Center.
Her fiance is a corrections officer at the Ohio State Penitentiary in Youngstown. He graduated magna cum laude from YSU with a degree in criminal justice and minor in corrections.

The couple's afternoon wedding will be held on July 23 at St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown.
Invitations will be issued for the reception at Mr. Anthony's Banquet Center in Boardman.
