Marie Young and Joseph Smaltz are engaged and planning a summer wedding.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Lucy Young of 5349 S. Pricetown Road, Berlin Center, and the late Urban "Bud" Young. She is self-employed
Mr. Smaltz is employed at Voith Industrial (General Motors). He is the son of Patricia Smaltz Thomas of 521 Powers Ave., Girard, and the late Robert P. Smaltz and stepson of the late Werner Thomas.
The couple's private ceremony will be held on Aug. 6 at Our Lady of the Lakes-St. James in North Jackson.
Invitations will be issued for the reception to follow at the Mahoning Country Club.
