Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bardo mark 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bardo of Salem recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.

The former Virginia Griffith and Mr. Bardo were united in marriage on Sept. 16, 1950, at Damascus Friends Church, where they are still active members. The Rev. Robert Moser officiated. The bride was attended by her sisters, Charlotte Berger, Edra Steward, and Loisann Jones. Don Shreve, Don Griffith, and Floyd Stanley stood up with the bridegroom.

The couple reside outside of Salem on their dairy farm, where Mr. Bardo continues to enjoy farming with his sons.

Mrs. Bardo enjoys time with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoys bowling, golfing, and sharing time with her Duo Decem Club of 55 years.

The Bardos hosted a brunch held at The Links Banquet Center at Firestone Farms, where their five children, Mike (Karen) Bardo, Luanne (Tom) Cope, Marty (Chuck) Wells, Dan (Norma) Bardo, and Les (Paula) Bardo attended, along with their 13 grandchildren and mates. They also have 12 great-grandchildren.

Special guests were Connie and Dick Hitchcock, Jim and Ruth Griffith, Shauna Woolf, Ann Unkefer, and Kristin Cross.

Their grandson, Josh Bardo, is deceased.
