Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roberts of Salem recently celebrated their 60th anniversary with a family dinner and a visit to Tara Inn, a gift from their children.
The former Marilyn Lenz and Mr. Roberts were married on Sept. 16, 1950, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Youngstown by the Rev. Luther M. Schliesser.
Mr. Roberts, a professional engineer, was owner and president of Roberts Engineering Co. in Salem for 25 years. Mrs. Roberts assisted as secretary-treasurer of the company. After retiring they founded MiMi's Cafe, a gourmet coffee shop in Salem. Mr. Roberts currently does consulting engineering and Mrs. Roberts works part time at Consign and Design in Poland. They also enjoy traveling, gardening and spending time with their family.
Their children are Bob and Mary Roberts of Beaufort, S.C., Ron and Terri Roberts of Salem and Diane and Paul Young of Poland. They also have eight grandchildren, Anne Roberts, Angela and Young Choi, Dan and Ali Roberts, Rob Roberts, Colin Rank, Ben Roberts and five step-grandchildren, Tim, Scott and John Trelevan and Nicole and Dominic Young.
