Megan Stone became the bride of 2nd Lt. Alexander E. Barnett on Aug. 14 at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Christ Church in Akron. The bride is the daughter of William and Laura Darby of Akron. The bridegroom's parents are Robert and Arlene Barnett of Salem.
The Rev. Father David Halaiko conducted the ceremony.
Brittany Snyder of Akron, maid of honor, wore a red gown with a white sash. Wearing matching gowns were bridesmaids, Renee Allan, Corie Craddock, Jessica Coppers and Rachel Handy. Maggie Champers, a cousin of the bride, served as the flower girl.
Ryan Barnett of Massillon performed the duties of best man for his brother.
Groomsmen were Richard Anderson, 2nd Lt. Charles McConnell, and the bride's brothers Billy Darby and Danny Darby. Harrison Barnett, a nephew of the bridegroom, was the ring bearer.
Wedding guests were received at a reception at Robert's Hall, Queen of Heaven Church in Uniontown. The couple entered the celebration through a saber arch provided by Kent State University Air Force ROTC Detachment 630.
A rehearsal dinner hosted by the bridegroom's parents, was held at the 356th Fighter Group Restaurant in North Canton.
The bride graduated in May from Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
The bridegroom is a 2009 KSU graduate with a bachelor's of science degree in education. He is currently stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida where he serves as assistant officer in charge of the 43rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.
The couple will honeymoon in Jamaica and reside in Mexico Beach, Fla.
