Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Chapman Jr. celebrate 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Chapman Jr. are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Aug. 13, 1960 at the First United Methodist Church in Lisbon. the couple has resided in the Lisbon area all their lives, except during Mr. Chapman's service in the Army from 1960-1966 at which time they lived in Fort Benning, Ga. and in Germany.

The Chapmans have two sons, Jeffery (Kimberly) Chapman of Salem and Justin (Shannon) Chapman of Palm Harbor, Fla., and five grandchildren, Tiffany of Columbus and Owen, Samantha, Zach and Drew of Florida.

Mrs. Chapman is the daughter of the late Hughie and Helen (Donnalley) Evans of Guilford Lake. She graduated in 1960 from Beaver Local High School.

Mr. Chapman, son of the late J. Edgar and Marie (Wallace) Chapman Sr. of Lisbon, graduated in 1960 from David Anderson High School.

Mr. Chapman retired in January 2008 from the Farmers National Bank and Mrs. Chapman from the First National Community Bank.

They are enjoying their retirement. Mr. Chapman enjoys fishing and Mrs. Chapman likes puzzles, reading and fishing. They were able to enjoy their oldest grandchild while still working, but are now able to enjoy the younger grandchildren in Florida due to the extra free time.
