SIDNEY, Ohio (AP) — A chemical leak has shut down lanes of Interstate 75 in western Ohio in both directions.

Media outlets say initial reports indicated lanes of I-75 in both directions at an exit near Sidney were closed Tuesday after a leaking tanker was reported around 10 a.m.

Sidney police chief William Balling says precautionary evacuations are underway within a half mile of the reported leak.

Sidney is about 40 miles north of Dayton.
