Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Monske mark golden anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Monske of Columbiana, formerly of Youngstown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 30 at the Holiday Inn in Boardman with family and friends.

The former Priscilla M. Fabry and Mr. Monske were united in marriage on April 30, 1960, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Youngstown.

The event was hosted by their children which included two daughters, Linda Osborne of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lisa (James) Codner of Youngstown; and a son, Robert J. (Paula) Monske of Struthers. The couple also has five grandchildren, Heidi Hall of Jacksonville, Fla., Linley (Ryan) Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas, Benjamin Osborne of Fort Campbell, Ky., Christopher and Mikayla Monske of Struthers; and two great-grandchildren, Toby and Regan Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas.

The Monskes have been very active members of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana for 40 years serving in many capacities.

Mr. Monske served with the Ohio National Guard and retired from Ameritech after 25 years of service.

Mrs. Monske attended Youngstown State University and retired from Youngstown Hearing and Speech Center of Youngstown in 2002. She served as a sign language interpreter for the Deaf Community and also taught American Sign Language Classes throughout Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
