SALEM - Chairman Christopher Smith recently annouced the appointment of William D. Blanton as president and chief operating officer of Quaker Mfg. Corp. in Salem.
Quaker Mfg. Corp. is a full-service provider of solutions for the metal forming industry. Quaker's primary customer base is the automotive, heavy truck, motorcycle, outdoor power equipment and commercial industries.
Blanton joined Quaker in June 2006 as the plant manager and was promoted to director, manufacturing in June 2007 with responsibility for all corporate manufacturing and operations.
He was previously employed at Eaton Engineered Fastener in Massillon and Specialized Vehicles Corporation, Kidron Division in Kidron with a focus in manufacturing, engineering, and management.
Blanton is a graduate of the University of Akron with a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering with a specialization in automation. He will receive his master's degree in business administration from Walden University this June. He has also been active in the Precision Metal Forming Association and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
According to the announcement, Blanton "is looking forward to leading Quaker Mfg. Corp. and its employees to new levels of growth and success with the focus on Quaker's core values and providing a strong economic base for its employees and families."
