Mr. and Mrs. William L. Ashcraft of 903 Elberon Ave., Salem, were honored on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary at a surprise dinner on Feb. 5 at Das Dutch Haus in Columbiana. The celebration was hosted by the couple's friends.
The former Barbara Susanna Masters and Mr. Ashcraft were married on Feb. 5, 1950, at the home of the bride's aunt. The Rev. A. Coleman Brown of the Diamond Street Methodist Church in Fairmont, W. Va., officiated.
The Ashcrafts have a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Susann) Thawley of Salem, three grandchilden and a great-granddaughter.
Mr. Ashcraft served in the Army from 1942-45.
Mr. and Mrs. Ashcraft retired in 1992 from Union Mission in Fairmont, W. Va. They are members of TOPS Chapter 1598 in Salem and Fairmont Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church in Fairmont. They attend Connecting Point Chapel in Beloit.
Members of TOPS 1598 also held a surprise card shower for the couple.
